Since 1992, Styrobeck has been a well-respected New Zealand manufacturer of cut, shaped, and moulded polystyrene products. Our solutions support a wide range of industries, including packaging, infrastructure, manufacturing, residential, and commercial building, along with the horticultural and fishing sectors. Operating from modern production facilities in Auckland, we manufacture high-quality EPS (expanded polystyrene) products, delivering both standard and custom designs to suit diverse applications.

In recognition of our manufacturing excellence, Styrobeck received two Gold Awards in 2015 for the production of ARIDON Insulating Panels. The awards were presented by Plastics New Zealand at their annual conference in Auckland.

At Styrobeck, we are passionate about reducing our environmental impact. We believe in responsible waste management, and our polystyrene recycling program is just one of the wats we contribute to a great future.

We are committed to sustainability and offer a recycling program for polystyrene products originally purchased from us, provided they are free from paints, oils, or excessive dirt. Our goal is to reduce waste and give polystyrene a second life through innovative processes.

Once collected, we grind the polystyrene into smaller pieces, which are then reused in various products, such as our Formflow panels and Pods. Additionally, we mould the processed material into durable polystyrene bricks, which are shipped overseas. These bricks are melted down and transformed into new plastic products, such as pens, picture frames, and other everyday items, ensuring that the material is continuously repurposed and kept out of landfills.

Through this initiative, we aim to contribute to a circular economy, minimizing environmental impact while promoting responsible manufacturing practices.

Our History

Styrobeck Plastics Ltd was established in 1992 by Mr John Beck who was already running a similar business operating as Longbeck Plastics, manufacturing and installing coolroom panels. The factories operating at Roscommon Rd in Manukau Auckland and Pharazyn St in Lower Hutt, since their establishment, have been set up with state of the art production equipment, producing virgin polystyrene insulation for the Residential and Commercial Building markets, Packaging for Manufacturing, Seafood, Horticulture and flotation support for the Marine markets.

In 2006 Styrobeck Plastics was awarded the prestigious Supreme Winner “Manukau’s Top Business 2006” under the Westpac Manukau Business Excellence Awards.

In 2008 Styrobeck Plastics was purchased by United Industries Ltd to add to its already extensive portfolio of companies dedicated to supplying the Building Industry of NZ, and the company is now registered as Styrobeck Ltd.

Today Styrobeck is a leading manufacturer of EPS (Polystyrene) moulded and cut shape products, supporting well established customers in their particular industry or location.
